Guy trouble what should i do?

so there's this guy who i have a cl with and we talk like a lot and he's super funny and he joke around and act like weve been friends for yrs instead of wks. homecoming is coming up and I think he mite ask me and i do really like him but im afraid it would totally mess everythin up. like our entire friendship so I like really want him to ask me but also am afraid if he does. whatt do u think I should do? should take the risk of messin up a really good friendship? could it even mess it up? HELP ME!!!!PLz!
