Do cats get more friendly and social with age?

It seems like my cat has gotten more talkative and sociable as he has girth older!!! She is four and whn she was one and two and younger she was very aloof and also tempermental! She never used o let u pet her!! She used to scratch little kids!! Now she is sweet and will rubb her head against u a thousand times and won't stop!! She will talk to u also!!
