What are some life-threatening diseases that a teenage girl could have?

I know this is a really sadistic title for a question, but I'm writing a story & I need ideas as to some ailment that a teenage girl could have. I know cancer is the obvious, but I was hoping that you could give a more specific kind if that's what you say. Please though, something other than a cancer is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks a load!!!!
